Monday 26th April - walk *** - Around Felixstowe including lunch at The
Grove – cloudy start then sunny afternoon but still chilly.
Was tempted to go windsurfing this morning but it was cloudy, 6 degrees and
I could not face the drive over to Bradfield again so decided to give it a
miss. So, exercises in our back room with T. Rex on the record player,
definitely not warm enough to be in the garden:( Then the sun appeared so I
packed a picnic then Mag and I walked to our local wood, The Grove. After
strolling through Abbey wood, we enjoyed our very yummy ham roll with
lashings of salty butter with just the sound of the noisy crows in the tree
tops! There are now lots of beautiful cowslips in bloom but sadly the
blossom trees are now past their best:( We continued through the woods with
wild garlic starting to show plus a few bluebells with a few birds
including a singing tiny wren, blue tits, a jay and loads of pigeons plus
some squirrels darting about! We past the horse fields and saw two new
foals then returned along the edge of the field with the breeze behind us.
Back through the town, along the cliff top and home to cut up vegetables
for a roast chicken. We know how to live. Tomorrow is looking good for a
bike ride while Wednesday could be on for a windsurf foil on the Stour at
Bradfield after I have my second covid jab!
