Another good session well powered up with my 5m sail and this time my small
wave board. It may be 34cm longer than my big wave board and only 10ltrs
smaller in volume but it is 6cm narrower and that's what really make the
difference. The nose and tail is even narrower again so the board slices
through the water and waves rather than bouncy around on the top of the
water. This gives much more control especially in such choppy conditions.
It does need a decent blow to get it going though and that's what we had
today, a proper autumnal low pressure and decent wind and waves.
Decided to sail all the way into Borth a couple of time as Shem said he
would be out kite-surfing. Couldn;t see him but I did see somone out with a
bright green sail inside of the reefs at the Lifeboat Station. There's not
much room inside the reefs for windsurfing though so I didn't venturer in
there. Then sailed right up to the mouth of the estuary too.
In the end the strained muscles in my ribs that were hurting a little
before I went out were complaining just too much to continue. I lay on the
dunes for a while trying to fight the pain but it wouldn't ease up so
packed up and headed home for a warm bath and some deep heat massage!
