Sea Temperature: warm

Best sail 2017. 10 stars. Arrived 1 ish just be4 low tide. It was gusting 20 kts sea flat, sunny but no one around. Chris S arrived thankfully so on water just after low tide.loaded whats now my favourite sail, 7.8 RRD 3 /4 cam firewing to the JP excite 146 pro ed. Flew off the beach with Chris hitting 24.5kts. Unbelievable a mist rolled in after 2 runs, killed my wind and I lost several groynes downwind and had the walk of shame. Chris sat it out downwind on his 6.0 sail then as the sun came back so did the wind (after my walk aarrgghh) It was now brilliant. Hot sun flying over flat seas at the dip. Learn my lesson and stayed high towards kite zone. That's was the only negative close reaching most of the day. Coming back you could ride the NE rollers further out. Had great runs with Chris S producing 24.64 kts. Mark P turned using his Isonic / 6.8 which normally I can't catch. Today we had battles galore chasing each other all over. Honours were even and crept speed up to 24.95 kts best of the day. It was just too risky broad reaching downwind as the tide Def drags you quickly towards the fludge if u lost the wind. Went in river mouth with Mark P but felt too many shallow gravel hitting the fin. Started walking looking for deep water. Mark made the channel but he felt the shallows and also hammered out of the river at full pelt. He was flying. Wish had made it to the channel. Andy M turned up late as Chris who had a superb sail was packing up. Stayed till 6.30 still blowing and warm. Best sail of the year. Gybes were 80% on the flat water and surprisingly the 3 cam 7.8 RRD slalom sail was easier to waterstart than my 7.8 North E type. Had to flatten the RRD as the wind increased. Had my HR watch on. Max HR was 178 pretty high on one fast reach. Loads at 130 hr heading thru chop. Average was 105. Considering when I cycle in the gym at 15 mph for 30 mins my hr is 110 windsurfing is a great cardio workout as well as strength training m
