Good day :) my last day at work before we head off to Europe for 6 weeks :)
Early start in Ipswich for 6:30 dropping Mag and birthday girl Jay at
Levington with their bikes! Within100 metres Mag had a puncture which was
quickly repaired because of the magic 'slime' - so after a few spins and a
quick pump they were on their way down to Levington creek and along the
Orwell. Passing Loompit lake along country lanes to The Grove spotting
loads of deer, Marsh Harriers and buzzards - so a good start to Jays
birthday - sunny too :)
I had an easy job near Haverhill and was lucky to finish early. Home by
1:30 picking up my new buoyancy aid from Seamark Nunn on the way. With the
wind NW which is offshore I had a relaxing cuppa and chat with Mag before
she set off to visit her old friend Mary while I did my exercises in the
garden. I then headed out on the bike in search of coal. I joined the prom
near the town hall but saw no coal even though the tide was low. The wind
had switched onshore and picked up - 7.8 on the 133 would have been good
but I continued all the way to Landguard before turning and speeding home,
quickly loading the trailer and heading to The Dip. It was nowhere near as
windy there but I rigged big and had a few planning runs before the wind
disappeared completely:( Then home, shower and order a birthday chinese to
have with Jay, Dan and Mag - I am starving!!!!
