After yesterdays disappointing day which although overcast wind was forecast so after five weeks away in the campervan it was nice to catch up with my mates at The Dip but sadly the wind didn’t play ball:( and then it rained! So today with sunshine and light winds it was time to get out on the bikes:) so with picnic packed we headed to the Ferry avoiding the busy prom! We stopped at the beach at the River mouth and collected a little coal before heading to the jetty to watch a fisherman taking herring out of his net, then had a look in the boatyard at the flat calm river. It was the along the river path to Kings Fleet and up to Falkenham church for lunch before continuing to Kirton, then Trimley to Levington village and down to the River Orwell via Levington Creek. We stopped at the marina for our banana and choc bar watching the yachts struggle in next to no wind! Then it was past Loompit lake looking very lovely along the tree lined paths and home – a top two rivers bike ride covering 22 miles and out for nearly 4 hours:)
