After completely mad winds and rough seas this morning, things calmed down in the afternoon and Andy I went decided it was managable so went out from the seafront/ When we rigged winds were around 20 knots so we rigged 5.5(ish) sails and 100 litre boards and go out there. I was first on the water and made my first run OK out through the waves, then gybed and the wind dropped so I ended up riding a wave in and got back to the beach a little way downwind. 10 minutes of struggling to get going and we gave up for a bit.

Chris turned up and rigged his 17m kite and I thought about changing up to a 6.5m sail, but just changed to a bigger fin as a squall was approaching. Chirs quickly rigged his smaller kite and Andy and I got back out there. This time we were all well powered up and having a great time in the dead onshore winds. Plenty of power and able to wave-ride and jump on both tacks and we had a really good time of it. I made loads of really nice fully planing gybes and quite a few nice jumps too. Then the wind dropped off again. Andy and I gave up whilst Chris went back out with his 17m.

The powered up bit was well worth waiting for.
