The forecast was for sunshine from lunch so Mag ang I packed a picnic and headed to our favourite spot at Levington Marina for breakfast in the camper :) the tide was very low and lots of birds were feeding in the mud including lots of Knots :) then a paramotoe fly over heading for Felixstowe docks - would love one of them !! With still no sign of the sun :( we headed over to Dedham and managed to park right by the Millpool even though it was busy with lots of families taking their kids out for a splash as the feilds were very wet.As soon as we parked Mag spotted a tiny Goldcrest a bit like a punk wren with a fantastic god head :) He was feeding in the waterside trees and took no notice of me so I could get really close and get some nice shots :) We were hungry so had our picnic in the van which saved me carrying it :) and then set off around the mill, over the sluice to the lock but the ay was flooded so we had to turn back !! We walked over the bridge and headed down river toward Flatford which was very nice with several ducks in the flooded feilds on the other side of the river. We even saw a man in a canoe paddling against the strong flow from Flatford to Dedham !! he had a fast ride back :) We got within a few hundred metre's of Flatford when water in the feilds became too deep for walking boots :( and we had to turn back !!! The sun even tried to show it's face for a short while and spring is in the air with lots of snowdrops out - so a nice day out in the Suffolk countryside or is Dedham in Essex ???
