5th June 2012
Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip
Wind Direction: SSE
Wind Stength: 12-15kts
Surf / Sea State: big lumpy swell
Air Temperature: cold
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: grey
Max Speed: 19kts (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 3hrs (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Arrived at the dip with Ian and the high tide, big lumps, SSE F3-4 with no beach, didn’t look inviting as it was cold. I forgot my steamer so had to do another 30 miles round trip, so bad start.
Darren and Ian launched with Mark on 5.5 / 6.0M and were sailing well.
Rigged 7.2 Hellcat / JP120 excite ride pro (what a sweet board that is) but the wind was up/down and the sea really lumpy, so was falling in way too much. Dropped a fin size and the board was much easier.
When the wind increased it was great, as the tide turned at 1.00 the sea lumps changed to swell and was good except the wind continued to drop.
I had some great runs between some big swells and could get the gybes off them, and then the wind dropped again. Colsey turned up and rigged 7.8 / Isonic and bombed the place.
The others were struggling so packed up around 4.00. Maker and Andy were struggling on 6.0M till he switched to 7.3. All the late arrivals had the best sea, but still iffy wind.
Had a good sail, but the wind was too fickle for my 7.0 so 3***
