After moving a bit closer to the lifts we spend a good night in the free car park with a few more campervans, it did get very windy in the night but we are used to that after La Franqui windsurfing ! After a quick breakfast we are the lifts just as they open at nine having only bought a half day.
Even though it was cloudy to start it was high and you could see very well and the pistes were perfect !!!! hat off to the piste bashers who turned the mogel field pistes of yesterday into wonderful flat blasting/turning pistes :)
After going up on the Caron cable car we were some of the first to go down the Gentiane and then spent most of the morning making the most of the very quiet Boismint lift and the Blanchot blue was great :)
With time running out on our lift passes we decided to get as high as possible and stop for lunch !!! So it’s up the Moutiere across to the Plateau drag and down to Val Thorens centre to check out the interesting sounding Cascades lift but that did’nt take us high enough so we shot back to the Peclet cable car and got there just before our passes ran out !!! and went to the Glacier De Peclet and found a restaurant with top views and great food :) We read abit after lunch but despite of the sunshine it was chilly we headed down the Tete Rond blue past the worlds longest toboggan track and stopped at another nice restaurant for hot chocolate and to read our books !!! this was only spoilt a bit by the sun disappearing behind cloud and the bar playing very load music, well I call it music, it was just several musicians all playing a different tune – it’s called Jazz :( We are now tired and are legs are not working right and we are glad to get back to the van at 3:30 tired but very happy after one of the best days skiing we have ever had !!!!!
We back the van up and head down the valley for another place to stop and some white water,we found both :)
