Information
Cricieth is an out of favour seaside resort, It used to be extremely popular in the Victorian days of beach holidays, but beach-bound holiday makers now tend to head to Pwllheli and Abersoch. This has left Cricieth a little run down, but it still offers plenty of good places to stay and eat and a castle to explore.

I've never indulged in 'forces-of-nature' sports here, but with a sweeping south facing sand and shingle beach I see no reason why it shouldn't be good for windsurfing or kitesurfing with suitable winds..

Resort

Criccieth is a lovely little family resort and doing very well thank you. We don't particularly want windsurfers, jetskiers and their ilk here so hopefully your comments will deter them!

I'm afraid you obviously don't know much about windsurfers... For a start they wouldn't ever associate themselves with jet skiers and most windsurfers hate jet skiers and their noisey, dirty, smelly machines with a passion!

The description above probably would deter jet skiers from visiting and they usually like big brash bold things and places where the fit in just fine. Windsurfers on the other hand look for quiet, out of the way places where there are fewer people. As long as there is wind they aren't worried about much else and will keep themselves to themselves.

As a windsurfer the description of Criccieth above suits me just fine and makes it sound like the PERFECT place to head for when on the Lleyn.
