Turn right in the centre of Benllech and head down to the beach area. There is parking with toilets (including disabled acces) and cafe across the road from beach. A slipway allows easy access to the beach. Other facilities including a library, pharmacy and doctors surgery can be found within the town centre. The beach at Benllech is ideal for families and an area of the beach has a dog ban in force during the summer season.
The beach is a horseshoe-shaped sandy area but beware of a big concrete outlet pipe and rocky area to left facing whilst the sea. Also, occasional rocks appear amidst the sand as the tide retreats with quite a rip coming from red wharf bay to your right.
Beware when a high tide, as the beach dissappears and the sea comes practically to the sea wall. At low tide there is great potential for big runs across the bay to Red Wharf with clean smooth winds. Very few people use this beach because of the lack of beach at high tide, but if you time it right well worth the visit, or you could drive further on to Llygwy

I have been to this beach for many years. It is very popular and has good
facilities for families. Its a great place to unwind and know the children
will be playing in a safe area.
