A popular beach with locals and tourists alike. Mainly shingle with sandy stretches here and there.
Plenty of local features such as the pier, bandstand, promenade and the famous Floral Carpet Gardens.
Dogs are banned during the summer months and there are plenty of faciltities, shops and accommodation in Eastbourne itself.
People do surf here, and windsurfing can be OK in Southerly and NW winds. SW winds are a sheltered by Beachy Head untial you get away from the beach a little. The best launch point is the the east of Eastbourne where there is a large grassy rigging area.
