Nefyn is a beautiful sweeping 2 mile sandy bay which offers all the usual seaside amenities and plenty of opportunities for 'forces-of-nature' sports.
Facing NE at its western end and swinging through north facing to NW facing it can offer a range of conditions. It needs a big swell to get any surf but can be good when it does get some. Windsurfers and kitesurfers are well catered for though with decent flat water sailing conditions in the prevailing SW's and bump and jump conditions in W-NE wind directions.

Nefyn Beach
The beach is fine, what spoils it is the amount of rubbish lying about.
There are only two bins sited halfway up the hill, which are only emptied
fortnightly. By the time the gulls and dogs have finished with the
mountains of rubbish overflowing the bins and stacked nearby it smells and
looks unsightly. There are about 20 parking spaces and very vigilant
traffic wardens if you park out of a bay. Jet ski users who take vehicles
onto the beach face the wrath of the beach warden, traffic warden and
others, nice beach but beware!

Basically you have 2 choices when visiting Lleyn. If you prefer starboard
tack use the south coast beaches Pwllheli, Abersoch, Hells Mouth but if you
prefer port tack then head to the north coast beaches of Nefyn and Port
Dillean.
Nefyn is a beaut with stunning views of the Rivals and Anglesey and in a
force 4 NW offers manic bump and jump conditions. There is laugh out loud
strangely variable chop and with the NW normally following a SW blow there
is a bit of residual swell to spice things up further.
Parking though is a pain i.e. you normally have to drop your kit off and
then go find a parking space a the top of the hill.
