19th April 2003 Windsurfing: Ynyslas estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 15 -35 knots Surf / Sea State: wind chop Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Arrived at the beach went and stomped on some virgin sandunes while waiting for the wind and tide to fill in Al went out on a 6.3 so I started rigging the same, some of us don't sail every day so it takes us longer to rig than others. Time I was ready to hit the water I tried to walk down the beach with kit and found it almost impossible as the wind strength had increased so struggled back up the beach. Rigged a 5.3 mc wave (smallest I have) and hit the water was really over powered most of the time infact all the time I think before the gust came through. Didn't sail for long as was so over powered sometimes was just too scary to hook in, went for a couple of gybes but was real crash and burn stuff! would of been 4 stars but needed smaller kit. |
