A perfect Xmas day session. I met Shem on the beach, and it felt like 5.7m weather, but our wind-meters were only reading around 15-18 knots, so I rigged my big boardand big sail while Shem set up his 12m kite.

Once on the water, the conditions and my kit were just perfect. Loads of really nice steep ramps, perfectly powered up and a nice direction that allowed for some good jumps on the way out and some really nice backside wave-rides on the way in. Shem was a little overpowered and didn't stay out long, but I stayed out for a couple of hours. The jumping was good, the wave rides and little backside aerials were good, but the best moves were the flat out gybes on the wave faces out the back. There were some lovely steep head-high waves out the back allowing me to bank around on them and come flying out of my gybes twice as quick as I went into them.

It would have been a five star session, but the wind dropped off a little towards the end, and I finally had to wobble back in. I was also a little bit too hot out there at times with my various layers of neoprene!
